August 1765:Sons of Liberty formed from Loyal 9. Sam Adams founder
March 1765: Tax on documents, licence, land titles, bill of sales, cards, newspapers, dice. Colonist angry.
Peace Treaty of Paris 1763: Ends French and Indian War. English get all land east of Mississippi to the Appalachians.
French and Indian War. War in North American. French and British with Native American allies. Much of northern and western colonies affected by Native American raids.
Proclamation of 1763:a proclamation,mainly intended to conciliate the Indians by checking the encroachment of settlers on their lands. In the centuries since the proclamation, it has become one of the cornerstones of Native American law in the United States and Canada.
March 1765: Quartering Act introduced, British soldiers can live in colonist homes.
May 1765: Virginia Stamp Act Resolution: a series of resolutions passed by the Virginia House of Burgesses in response to the Stamp Act of 1765.
October 1765: Stamp Act Congress: First Congress of the American Colonies, was a meeting held between October 7 and 25, 1765, in New York City, consisting of representatives from some of the British colonies in North America; it was the first gathering of elected representatives from several of the American colonies to devise a unified protest against new British taxation.
1767: Townsend Act: placed an indirect tax on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. These goods were not produced within the colonies and had to be imported from Britain. This form of generating revenue was Townshend's response to the failure of the Stamp Act, which had served as the first form of direct taxation placed upon the colonies.

Olive Branch Committee: Writes letter to king of England for review of the incidents and ask king to repeal the Intolerable Acts. Kind reacts by sending more British troops to colonies to punish them for Lexington and Concord. The American Revolutionary War begins.
