Innovation
-
McDonalds has started to use mobile ordering sites, like uber eats, that can be delivered.
-
Culture
Japan: created a Rice Burger, Teriyaki Burger, and Green Tea Ice Cream. Japanese people also saw McDonalds as a snack not a meal.
India: most Indians are vegetarian and don't eat beef which would make it hard for McDonalds to establish a brand in India.
Islamic states: need to follow the religious laws and have a HALAL certificate. This shows that the food is 100% free of pork and makes sure the production process is safe.
Strategy
In Malaysia they have started the McValue Lunch package which offers cheaper prices on some items from 12- 3.
In islamic countries they changed "hamburgers" to "beef burgers" to show they are not made from pork and to avoid misunderstandings.
-
Change
Added the $1, $2, $3 menu to replace the old $1 menu.
