Due to gender inequality females in America face some of the greatest effects of differences in terms of having a healthy life. To raise a healthy female child in the United States these following policies and social institutions need to be address. They currently bind the possibility for a healthy life by concealing vital information or limiting femininity. This will serve as a blueprint to help guide and advise the community and country to fixing these inequalities.
The female body is greatly restricted and controlled in the United States. Through multiple platforms, society has shaped and manipulated how we perceive the female body. In order to raise a healthy child in the United States the discourse surrounding the female body needs to change. The challenge is to not shame but to try and remove limiting barriers within each institution.
The discourse that I want to address in this industry is the portrayal of women and their body. It highly shapes the way females think about their bodies, their sexuality and their relationships. It narrows down the female body as sex objects and enforces male dominant control over the body. As the porn industry grows it continues to strip the human status of females and also enforces other ideology such as rape culture.

Modeling companies and the portrayal of models are probably some of the biggest influence on the ideal body for females. There are some policies that can be change that would greatly benefit the growth of the child.
The idea here is to make photo shopping models illegal. Through the usage of Photoshop we fabricate our models creating this unattainable image.
Make it illegal for our models to be under a certain body fat percentage. Policies need to be place to also protect models from hurting themselves due to not being "skinny" enough. Also there needs to be change about the idea of what is skinny.
Stop shaming models who are thick or plus size. Encourage difference in size and shape. Not all girls can or come in the hourglass shape, as do males, females differ in shape and size and that is a good thing.
The education system is currently a system that limits the ability of growth for our targeted child. Through withholding information and incorrectly gearing girls towards the wrong direction, the system binds our child to societal "norms".
Teaching Female teens proper sex education. Proper education in sex can lead to a lower chance of pregnancy and getting diseases like HIV. Also, knowing the intricacy of how sex works, how it should feel, and how it should look can further help with raising a healthy female child. Not knowing the proper forms or techniques can possibly lead to sexual abuse or damage. Knowing what sex is and giving them the ability to freely and safely explore can lead to a healthier and safer sex life.
Teaching girls at a young age that there are multiple forms of birth control will allow them more control of their own body.

"I'm bad at math" is a phrase that needs to be extinguished for my targeted child to flourish in the educational world. Gender stereotypes like this will greatly influence the overall performance of the child. In order to get rid of this stereotype we need to encourage girls to pursue STEM the same way we do with our boys.
Fixing the portrayal of women in Media. If they are smart, they are usually not sexy, or they are male.
Influence of teachers, parents, and other people they could look up to. Don't conform to the stereotypes by saying young girls are bad at math.

In order to raise a healthy female child in the United States, the pay gap between male and females has to also be addressed. It is a known fact that in the same field and with the same qualifications, females will be paid less than their male counterpart. This can lead to drastic fallback for raising a healthy child. This one can be fairly simple to solve however, pay women the same amount and men.
