HUMAN MAJOR JOINT
JOINT OF LOWER LIMB
- HIP JOINT - Articulation between Acetabulum of hip bone and Head of femur; Multiaxial Ball and socket type of synovial joint
-
- KNEE JOINT - Femur: Condyles of femur and Patellar surface of femur; Tibia Condyles of tibiA; Patella; Modified hinge-type synovial joint
-
3.ANKLE JOINT - Articulation between Lower end of tibia and fibula,articular surfaces of the malleoli; Superior, medial and lateral surfaces of the talus; Hinge-type of synovial joint
-
- TARSAL JOINT - articulation of the calcaneus with the cuboid (the calcaneocuboid joint), and the articulation of the talus with the navicular (the talocalcaneonavicular joint);
-
5.TIBIOFIBULAR JOINT - articulations between tibia and fibula. Superior tibiofibular joint is articulation between head of fibula and upper tibia;
-
JOINT OF UPPER LIMB
- Acromioclavicular joint - Joint between acromion process
of the scapula and lateral end
of the clavicle ; synovial , plane type
-
- Sternoclavicular joint -Joint between sternum and medial end of the and clavicle ; Synovial , plane type
-
- Shoulder Joint - Articulation between head of the humerus and the glenoid cavity of scapula ;Synovial joint, Ball and socket type
-
4. Elbow Joint - Articulation between the lower part of the humerus and trochlea ); upper parts of radius ( head of the radius) and ulna ( trochlear notch of ulna);
the synovial joint of hinge variety; consisting of humeroradial (between capitulum of the humerus and head of the radius) ) and
humeroulnar joints ( between trochlea of the humerus and trochlear notch of ulna).
-
5. Radioulnar joint
PROXIMAL - the articulation between the head of the radius and the radial notch of the ulna which is completed by the annular ligament; synovial joint, pivot type
-
DISTAL - The articulation between the head of the ulna and the ulnar notch of the radius; synovial joint, pivot variety
-
6. Radiocarpal joint /Wrist joint -articulation between the distal end of the radius and articular disk superiorly and the proximal row of carpal
bones( scaphoid, lunate and
triquetrum) inferiorly; synovial joint, ellipsoid type
-
