Medieval Europe and Japan Wrap-Up
Japan
Push Fators
One push factor is Volcanoes because some of the people that lived in Japan can get scared that they might erupt so they move away so they do not need to worry about them erupting.
One push factor is that you might have been a peasant that works for someone that is not nice so you would want to move to a place that you can work for someone nicer or work for yourself.
One push factor is clan wars because there might have been people that are apart of one clan that is not that strong and they would move so when a stronger clan attacks they don't die in battle.
One push factor is that Japan has a very big risk for Tsunamis and monsoons so some people did not want to live at places with risks of natural disasters.
Big Idea
One thing that we can learn from Japan is to use the things around as your advantage because they used the water as a natural barrier from enemies and they used the fertile land from the volcanoes to grow food with.
One thing that we can learn from Japan is to a be united as a country because they had a lot of clan wars when people in Japan kill other people in Japan and if another country attacks, they will have no people to fight.
Pull Factors
One pull factor is that Japan did not have that many wars unlike some of the other country's and when they did, they were clan wars or feudal wars.
One pull factor is that Japan is surrounded by water so the water forms a natural barrier and it was harder for other people to attack and the people that live there might feel more safe.
One pull factor is Religion because there might have been people that are really into religion and they moved to Japan to be able to follow the religion.
One pull factor is that Japan had very fertile land for growing crops on so if you did live there you would be able to grow crops with no problem.
Europe
Push Factors
One push factor is that Europe is neighbors to country's that are about 5 times as big so they will have a bigger army to attack Europe if they do anything to provoke them.
One push factor is the Black Death because that was a disease that killed over 1/3 of Europe's population and spread through out many other country's so some people that did not want to die from the Black Death did not move to Europe or moved away from Europe.
One push factor is war because Europe was in war with other country's and if there were people that wanted peace they would move some place else
Big Idea
One thing that we can learn from Medieval Europe is not to go into war to much because they went into war to much and that is part of the reason Rome fell.
One thing that we can learn from Medieval Europe it to always take your medicine because we do not won't a disease outburst like the Black Death to kill 1/3 of our population.
Pull Factors
One pull factor is religion because if you wanted to you can become a monk and just live with other monks doing and living by the religious rights.
One pull factor is that it is so big so many places to live because you could live on a beach, you could live on top of a mountain, and you could live in the flatland's as well.
One pull factor is knights because if you live on land with big strong knights you would feel safe and not worry about people trying to attack you.
Connections
I can connect Japan to Europe because they both had a warrior because Japan had a Samurai, and Europe had Knights.
I can connect Japan to China because in both of the country's, they had rice as one of their main foods.
I can connect Europe to Rome because they they both had a type of similar warrior because Rome had Trojan's and Europe had Knights.
I can connect Europe to Japan because back then, both of the country's had slaves to work on land or for a lord.
