Best Breathable Fabrics
Cotton - Best for breath-ability as it allows air to flow through its fibres. It does absorb moisture though so it becomes very wet.
Cotton Blends - A blend of cotton and synthetic fabrics to produce a breathable as well as less moisture absorbent version of cotton.
Gore-Tex - Is a synthetic membrane that coats other fabrics. Making it waterproof as well as windproof yet allowing the skin to breath.
Nylon - Synthetic fabric which is as soft as silk, its breathable and wicks sweat from the skin to the fabrics surface where it can evaporate.
Polyester - Basically plastic cloth, breathable, lightweight, durable, wrinkle resistant, non absorbent. It also insulates and protects from UV rays. Only issue is polyester promotes foster bacteria growth and doesn't dry as quick as nylon or polypropylene.
Polypropylene - Similar to polyester, but completely water resistant.
Spandex - Very flexible, can expand to nearly 600% its size. Its breathable, wicks moisture and dries quickly. Spandex can also have something called four-way stretch, less chafing, more comfort and antibacterial and moisture wicking.
Tencel - Similar to bamboo, its made from wood pulp containing tiny fibrils or small hairs. This gives it sweat wicking properties and luxurious texture. Claimed to be softer than silk and cooler than linen.
Wool - Creates pockets of heat allowing it as a great insulator. its breathable and wicking moisture as well has having lightweight fibres which dont retain odor. Companies like Nike blend 65% wool with Dri-Fit polyester for excellent insulation and moisture protection.
X-Static - Excellent and stopped smell, the fabric is woven with heavy metal which is an antimicrobial that prevents bacterial and fungal growth.
