Causes
Huge losses due to casualties
Had to depend on reservoir men (last group of men left to fight)
Extreme weather made men unable to fight. They became ill very often and were uncomfortable fighting in winter gear
Tsar Nicolas II took command as Commander in Chief leading to many failures
Lost important battles like Tannenberg, Massurian Lake, Warsaw
Lack of resources: Ration and ammunition (shellings especially)
