Congenital Heart Disease
-
CHF
-
Signs and Symptoms
Tachycardia
Heart enlargment
-dilation of the chambers
-hypertrophy from increased work to over come the pressure gradients
Tachypnea
Poor perfusion and mottling
Decreased urine output
Decreased excersices tolerance
Failure to thrive and difficulty feeding
Management
Positive inotrope i.e.: digoxin, milrinone to increase contractility
Diuretics -to relieve fluid overload
PDA
-
Signs and symptoms
L-R shunt= NO cyanosis
Pressure gradient between aorta and pulm art so blood flows from LV into pulp art.
