      - In 2016, someone who has worked full-time for 40 years received about £15000 in annual state pensions. By comparison, UK State pensions will reach about £7500 a year by 2018.

        When oil prices are high, the governemnt enjoys singifciant revenues.
        
        However, it also becomes burdend with debt when the price falls.

        In 2015, a third of working-age Suadis were in work, though the offical unemploymet rate was just 12% (still high by international standards). The 'hidden' rate is higher, not least becuase only 22% of Saudi women work.
        
        In 2013, Time magazine claimed that 20% of Saudi's population lived in poverty.
        
        Half the population is aged 25 or less, with many unemployed.
        
        Unemployment pay is £400 monthly, payable for only 12 months.
        
        Pensions are low by global standards (£300 month), though few retiring ex-pats remain in Saudi Arabia

      - Education focuses in religious teaching; scientific and technical education are weak, and rote learning dominates.
      - Saudi teachers are poorly trained, and school/college leavers are unable to find jobs in technical and oil industries, or in government departments like defence.

        Governments are expected to take ownership to establish national frameworks for the achievement of the goals, and then follow-up and review the progress made in implementing them
