independent regulator of members of CILEx

Legal Ombudsman
set up by the Office for Legal Complaints to deal specifically with complaints against the legal profession
deals with complaints in general, and also complaints from lawyers about the conduct of the BSB, SRA and CILEx regulatory boards
can order the professional to:
apologise, return documents, put things right, refund/reduce fees, pay up to £30k compensation
