The power to arrest for breach of the peace is only used if there is no other power avaliable and is often used to remove someone from a potentially violent situation, for example, in domestic disturbances. The usual sentence for a breach of peace is that you are bound over, meaning you assure the Magistrate that you will conduct yourself in a peaceful manner for a certain period of time. You can be arrested for rioting, violent disorder, affray, drunk and disorderly behaviour, use of threateing behaviour and language.
