The Kansas-Nebraska act was the act that the people could see if the state was a free or slave state from the popular sovereignty.

Fugitive Slave Act-This act made it so the slaves could get brought back or claimed as there slave whenever they get free and make it to the north and they could get returned to the south.
This lead to the civil war because slaveowners could lose a lot of slaves and they could walk up to any African-American and clame them which was not fare.

The Missouri compromise was so Missouri was a slave state and anything below the line was a free state and any state above the line was slave state.
this lead to the civil war because our country was being divided confederates were the north and union was the south.

Geography caused the civil war because people wanted what others had like the soldiers wanted the supplies and they couldn't get it so the went into war and the north had factories and when the slaves got free slaveowners had no one to work for them.
Abraham Lincoln- Abraham Lincoln was the president at the time and he wrote the emancipation proclamation which helped slaves get free.
