T.1 Classification of living things. Microorganisms
Clasification of living things:
There are 2 main types of classificate the living things.
Objective:
Dont depend on the person who is classificating
Discriminatory:
The person establish the groups
Dichotomous keys:
Allow to classify by it’s characteristics
How they are classified:
Kingdom
Phylum
Class
Order
Family
Genus
Species
Biodiversity:
Is every live thing in earth that start of one single cell that evolved.
Microorganisms
There are 3 main types:
(1 exception)
Moneran:
All bacteria belong to the Moneran kingdom, they are prokaryote organism that can live in a verity of environments. They can group together to make colonies. They can be autotrophic or heterotrophic nutrition. There are 3 types:
Parasitic
Symbiotic
Saprophytic
Protist:
They all are aquatic or in humid enviroments. There are 2 main types
protozoa
and
algae
.
Protozoa:
They are multicellular and made up of eukaryotic animal cells. They are classified in how they move.
Ciliates
moves trough cilia
Flagelates
moves trough flagella.
Rhizopods
moves by extensions
Sporozoans
dont move
Algae:
Are eukaryotic, photosynthetic, unicellular or multicellular and acuatic. Also contain chlorophyll.
Fungus:
Around 70,000 species belong belong to the fungus kingdom. They include yeast which are unicellular and mushrooms which are multicellular. There are also 3 types:
Saprophytic
Parasitic
Symbiotic
Yeasts:
Are unicellular fungi which do a procces called fermentation. This procces produces alcohol and lactic acid.
Moulds and mushrooms:
They organizates into tissues, a big group is called hyphae, and hundreds of hyphae are mycelium.
Moulds:
Are frequently found in food like fruit or bread
Mushrooms:
The Micellium form a reproductive structure called mushroom only the mushroom itself the emerge above the ground while the micellium remain buried
Virus:
Not belong to any group. Their are form of capsid and nucleic acid. They cant do the function of reproduction, only need a cell. They are parasites.
