A Personal Investigation that attempts to evaluate how traditional darkroom techniques change the way we see nature.
Wider context
Certain Darkroom and digital techniques can seriously alter the appearance of an image such as the sabatier effect, or Vignettes and i am looking to see how this effects the way we perceive the photograph and what in the photograph
Other techniques effect how we see an image but in a far less obvious but just as influential way such as when pictures of models get "air brushed" and have all of their imperfections deleted from the photo and therefore we don't see the true image.
Photographers
Man Ray
Man Ray is a famous portrait photographer from the 20th century that pioneered experimental darkroom techniques that altered his photos such as the sabatier effect or contact printing.
Jerry Uelsmann
Uelsmann is famous for his dark room work with multiple exposures that are seamless and beautifully fused together i look to try and replicate this technique in the darkroom as with all the others mentioned.
Stephen Gill
Stephen Gill is a modern artist/ photographer that is famous for his work with a film camera and placing objects in the camera and taking a photo similar to a photo gram but in his own special way. he is also famous for his work of putting objects mostly flowers or plants on top of an image in a specific way to compliment the original composition.
Practical Techniques
I look to replicate the techniques of Man Ray, Jerry Uelsmann and Stephen Gill

Presentation Techniques
For presenting my work for some images i could do a similar technique to what Stephen gill has done by placing different plants on top of the image.
