Scene ideas
Having the dead family members contributing to the loss of Belle Reve
We want to explore the possibility of something happening to Blanche at the Tarantula Arms which we hear of briefly.
A visual representation of Blanche's descent into madness
An added scene of Blanche's vague relationship with Shep
A small scene involving the rape scene from Streetcar
A small scene involving the rape scene from streetcar.
We don't want to visually show the rape scene but we want to project physical harm that is caused.
Possibly using shadows projected up onto the cyclorama
Possibly have Stanley and Blanche talking.
A visual representation of Blanche's descent into madness.
Possibly have her walking towards the back of the stage.
Using a corridor.
Voice gets slower and dreamier as time goes on.
Having the dead family members and the contribution to the loss of Belle Reve
Have multiple family members die.
Show how the loss affects Blanche.
Possibility of something happening to Blanche at the Tarantula Arms
The Tarantula arms is mentioned briefly in the story so we decided to expand on it.
This does not have a lot of detail because it is only briefly mentioned which means we can write about anything that we want.
There will be a guy who physically assaults Blanche which will add to the abuse that she endures.
Blanche's relationship with Shep
Blanche's relationship with Shep is unclear as we don't know if he is real or imaginary.
A dreamy, imaginary and unrealistic relationship is developed and shown
As Shep is a figment of her imagination the scene is dreamy, happy and flawless
Shep is something that often help's Blanche to deal with tough situations and recover
We used small excerpts and descriptions of Shep in the original text to develop Shep as a character and to develop a scene with him
