Choose renewable power
Ask your utility to switch your account to clean, renewable power, such as wind farms. Renewable energy is becoming the best choice for the environment and the economy.
Renewable energy provides energy by generating electricity, air/water cooling/heating, transporting.
Renewable energy resources exist over wide geographical areas, in contrast to other energy sources.
-
While many renewable energy projects are large-scale, renewable technologies are also suited to rural and remote areas and developing countries, where energy is often crucial in human development.
Electricity can be converted to heat where necessary generating higher temperatures than fossil fuels.

Trim your waste
Garbage buried in landfills produces methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Help end food waste by shopping smarter and by composting kitchen scraps and garden trimmings.
We should be aware of food waste every day and give another thought to the unused or uneaten food we toss out. Almost everything is reusable in some form.
Keep stuff out of landfills by recycling paper, plastic, metal and glass.
Beware of excess packaging from all consumer goods — food, personal care products and electronics, even organic, local, non-toxic and GMO-free stuff

Fly Less
To reduce carbon footprint, we should use transportations that leave lower amounts of carbon footprint, for instance buses and cars. We should have vacations nearby our place that can be accessed by buses/cars, even cycling/walking as this will decrease a huge amount of carbon footprint.
If attending for a conference, instead of taking air travel, organize a video conference instead. Applications like Skype, FaceTime and Discord are able to hold video conferences. This saves time, money and doesn't create any kind of carbon footprint.
