Memory dumps
Hex is often used when developing new software or when trying to trace errors as it is much easier to read that binary. when the memory contents are output to a printer or monitor this is called a memory dump
easier to debug - a program developer can look at each of the hex codes and determine where the error is.
this is a much more manageable way of finding errors band is a very useful tracing tool but still requires considerable knowledge of the programmer in order to interpret the results
