Asimov's three laws of robotics are:
- Robots must never harm human beings.
- Robots must follow instruction from humans without violating rule 1.
- Robots must protect themselves without violating the others rules.

The word robotics was derived from the word robot, which was introduced to the public by Czech writer karel capek in his play which was published in 1920.
