Daily life
In ancient Greece,women,children and slaves were not citizens .
Women did not have much freedom as they could not leave their homes without their husband's permission.
Men were responsible to get the crops grown and harvested but everyone else in the family also had to help.

Access to water meant that the ancient Greeks could catch seafood and trade their seafood for food produced by the inland city-states.

THE ALPHABET
The Ancient Greeks created the first alphabet that contained both consonants and vowels .

Art and architectture
Ancient Greek sculptures were famous for making statues that represented humans. Statues were made of Greek gods, goddesses and other human beings.
SOCIAL STRUCTURE
Citizens were man who had freedom to work as farmers, craftspeople, and traders.

DEMOCRACY
Each year there was a drawing from
a pool of all the citizens of ancient Greece.
500 names were chosen and those 500
citizens had to serve for one year.
