Linguistic levels: Variations take place on the phonological, lexical and grammatical levels.
Social variations

RP: a social accent. It is the accent of the best educated and most prestigious members of the English society.
most regional variations take place at the lowest- socio-economic level. Further up the social ladder, observable variation reduces until we reach the pinnacle of RP.

Caste dialects
People can be grouped together on the basis of similar social and economic factors. Their language reflects these groupings by using different social dialects.

Pronunciation :[h] dropping is associated with low class groups where high class members show the least frequency of [h] dropping.
Grammatical Patterns: Lower class people use more vernacular verb forms than mid or high class people in America and Britain, where as the highest use more standard forms of verbs.
Multiple negation is present in lower class speech and it is very noticeable. Mid class speakers tend to avoid it
