Introduction of a moderator who then will introduce the keynote speaker, the panelist, pose questions and discussion.
Concludes with a question and answer period.
WELCOME: Delivered by the host/organizer.
The moderator introduces each presenter with a brief biography.
The speaker has a few minutes to speak on the topic and give his or her professional perspective.
The moderator guides a round table discussion among panelist, with pre-selected questions that have been sent to the panelist in advance.
Outcomes
Publishes the papers submitted by the manelist and a review with the opinions and any conclusions drawn from the discussion.
"NOTES FROM THE SYMPOSIUM": A less formal review article in journals or online.
Questions do not lead the discussion but clarify and expand on it.
