Fly high, Ollie!
Plot
Event #1: Ollie is on top of the hill showing off his sombrero to the readers and telling them how much he loves it.
Event #2: The wind comes and knocks Ollie down the hill and leaves his sombrero on top of the hill. He needs to figure out a way to get to the top of the hill. CLIMAX
Event #3: Ollie is trying his hardest to get up the hill. He attempts it in different ways, but it just doesn't work. He almost gives up before someone comes.
Event #4: Ramona the bird comes with a balloon and offers to help Ollie get his sombrero. Ollie is scared at first, but realizes Ramona is just like him and can't fly. Ramona uses her balloon to get to the top of the hill and get the sombrero.
Event #5: Ollie realizes that Ramona will not eat him and that she is kind and considerate bird. They end up becoming best friends and go on wild adventures together.
Setting
Ollie is on top of a hill when the wind pulls him down to a small valley. The hill won't be too high to show how Ollie is weak. I want to make the top of the hill seem happy, but the bottom of the hill would be gross to show that Ollie wouldn't want to be at the bottom of the hill.
The time would be modern times and it would be around noon. I do this because I want the story to seem happy and sunny because if it was dark it would seem sad.
Characters
Ollie (pill bug)
-
-
Quirky- Ollie is sort of awkward, but still can make people laugh. Even if he is a bit awkward, he has a good heart.
Ramona (bird)
-
-
Compassionate- Even though Ollie thinks Ramona might eat him and is scary, she understands and helps him anyway.
Conflicts
Internal Conflict: When Ollie gets thrown by the wind to the bottom of the hill, he believes that he can get back up. When he realizes he can't, he starts to put himself down and say that he can't do anything because he can't make it up the hill.
External Conflict: Ollie is having trouble trusting Ramona and is scared she'll eat him. He eventually realizes she's there to help him not hurt him.
Theme
Lesson #1: Don't judge people based on what they look like or if they seem a certain way. You should get to know people better before you decide if you want to be their friend or not.
