Unresolved Issues of the Treaty of Versailles (1919-1939) :

There was an aftermath after the treaty of Versailles. Germany had an economic problem due to the reparation payments and unemployment rates increased. Which means that there was inflation because of how little money Germany has.

Germany became angry with the effects of the treaty of Versailles.

Germany was put to blame for WWI and was forced to pay big reparation payments, lose land, and demilitarise.

Great Depression and the rise of Dictatorship

Since Germany could not pay their loans that means Britain and France couldn't either. Which created a chain reaction in the world and slowed down trade and production in the world.

Germany and it's government were unable to repair the economic issue in Germany.

The United States had a economic problem and asked Germany for their loans back, however Germany lost them.

Aggression and Failures of the League of Nations

Countries started to leave the League of Nations and went against the league's goals.

When there was an issue about word peace, the League of Nations had no power or did nothing to prevent it.

League of Nations was built to remain word peace and prevent wars.

Appeasement

Appeasement was the policy of giving nations what they wanted so such as land, to avoid conflict.

Britain and France gave Hitler land, control over nations, and remilitarization to avoid any conflicts with Nazi Germany.

Once France and Britain noticed they can't do anything about aggressive nations they went to the policy of appeasement.

There was a rise in totalitarian leaders because they promised economic reparation which current government could not fix.

Italy, Japan, and Germany left the league. Italy invaded Abyssinia, Japan invaded Manchuria, and Hitler broke the treaty of Versailles.

When Manchuria and Abyssinia were being invaded they called the League of Nations for support, however, they didn't do anything to prevent the invasion.

Appeasement however was not successful. GIving the things Hitler wanted which made him strive for more which gave Britain and France more problems.

An example of appeasement is the Munich Agreement where the Munich agreed to permit the annexation of Sudetenland as long as Hitler went no further.
