- - - - Helps the Board determine C-CORE’s values, mission, vision, and both short and long-term goals.
      - Helps the Board monitor and evaluate C-CORE’s relevancy to the communities it serves and collaborates with, as well as its effectiveness and results.
      - Keeps the Board fully informed on the condition of C-CORE and on all the important factors influencing it.
      - Identifies problems and opportunities and addresses them; brings forward to the Board and/or its committees where appropriate; and facilitates discussion and deliberation.
      - Informs the Board and its committees about trends, issues, problems and activities in order to facilitate policy-making, while also making policy recommendations.
      - Proactively seeks new market developments for C-CORE’s traditional value proposition, as well as unrealized market sector opportunities yet to engage C-CORE’s leading engineering and applied research-based solutions capabilities.

      - Manages the Board’s due diligence process to ensure timely attention to core issues.
      - Works with the Board officers and committee chairs to get the best input and involvement of each Board member and to inspire each Board member to give his or her best.

  - - - Facilitates the ongoing integration of C-CORE into the fabric of both the administrative and academic leadership of Memorial University, with specific attention provided to the effective cooperation with the offices of the President and Vice-Chancellor, Dean of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Vice President (Research).
      - Acts as the lead advocate within the public and private sectors for issues relevant to C CORE, its services and the mutual interest of constituency groups.
