Monsoons
monsoons are a big part of the ancient Indian civilization. Because it was so hot and dry there when a monsoon happened it was the only wetness and rain they got.
Ganges river, is a river that is important to a lot of people because they depend on it to live. The text says that it was used in a different part of India and not the Indus valley.
The hymilain mountains, They are some of the tallest and youngest mountains in the world. (tallest is mount Everest) The mountains are located between india and China.
What the Aryans brought
sanskrit (This is week one but it fits better here.) Sankrit is the language that the Indians speak.
Aryans. are from west asia and they are a big part of starting Hinduism. They brought a lot of the traditions in the ancient india.

caste. this is the social ladder in ancient india. it is illegal in modern day but is still going on.

Dalit. these are called the untouchables. they are the lowest of the low and they do the dirty work. What they did was that they had to sound something to warn other that they were coming.

reincarnation. They believed that in one life you will be human and then an something else and if you are good at it you will go up the social ladder.

Moksha. moksha is when you reach the top of the caste ladder and you are relived of the reincarnation cycle.

Rangoli. This is a type of art in Hinduism religion. what it is is art of symmetry and geometry and also has the purpose of welcoming gods.

Buddhism
Buddhism is a religion that is practiced in modern day China and has been going for a long time. it is one of the biggest religions in the world.
Unlike other religions, Buddhism is a religion that started with one person who is called the Buddha.
Nirvana. This is the ultimate goal of the Buddhas (religious wise). You get to Nirvana by fallowing the eight fold path and understanding the for noble truths. #
The next thing is enlightened meant it has the same meaning as Nirvana just a different way to say it.

The eight fold path. This a religious way to live your life and once you have achieved all of the them you reach nirvana.
The four noble truths. The Buddha made these and these are the things that no madder what will happen. You must understand these to reach nirvana.
The middle way: this is a way of life that says your life should be in between. For example don't be to energetic but don't be to lazy be between.
Meditation: This is a thing that a lot of Buddhist do to calm down, think and to practice religion.
A monk: they are the people that lead the religious practices they have a lot of information about the religion and how to do things.
The silk road is a path that people built to trade. They built it in parts of the world that were blocked off by natural barriers to trade. Some were China and India.
Mudras: This is a symbolic moment in ancient Chinese religion. It is used in dances and other things. each finger on your hand represents a different element.
Para nirvana: this is what happens when you reach Nirvana and you die usually you would be reincarnated but this ends the cycle of it.

Siddhartha Gautama: This is the name of the Buddha before he was called the buddha. The Duddha was the creator of the four noble truths, the eight fold path, and Buddhism in general.
Emperor Ashoka: He was the last major leader of ancient china. He wanted his work to be known he did by announcements and by engraving on rocks.
