Central Tendency
Median
The Median is the middle number in a set. So when finding the mean its really easy, you just look for the middle number. For example, 23764. 7 is the Median because its in the middle!
Mean
The mean is sort of like the mode but is a lot better average. So the mean is when you add up all the numbers, and then divide.
Mode
The Mode is the the average number that shows up in a set. So the average is the number that shows up the most in a set. For example, 34567669 , 6 is the average, or the Mode.
Range
-
-
Highest and Lowest digits. So for example. 123456 , 1 and 6 are the Range. So do 6 - 1 and 5 is the Range.
Histograms
A Histograms are used like a bar graph. variables including ordinal and nominal data sets.
histogram is only used to plot the frequency of score
-
Box Plots
A box plot is like a display of Information. It displays information about the Range. It also displays data about the median and its quartiles. It is usually drawn along a number line.
-
Line Plots
Line plots provide a quick and easy way to organize data and are best used when comparing fewer than 45 different numbers.
Statistical Questions
A Statistical Question is like a question involved with numbers. Like does it rain more in South Carolina or North Carolina? You would have to chart the States and see how much it rains in those states.
