Love that leads to tragedy
Relationships between parents and children
Juliet addresses her mother as 'Madam'
"Madam I am here. What is your will?"
Juliet and her mother are very formal towards eachother
Romeo and Juliet's love leads to tragic events
Rome and Juliet get married.
Because of this Romeo refuses to fight Tybalt
"Tybalt, the reason I have to love thee doth much excuse the appertaining rage to such a greeting. Villain I am none.
This results in Romeo's refusal to fight Tybalt and Mercutio defends Romeo
Mercutio then dies, ending in tradgedy
After this, Romeo pursues Tybalt in revenge and kills him
This results in even more tragedy, especially for Juliet and her family
Because Romeo kills Tybalt, Romeo is banished
This causes much grief and tragedy for Juliet
When Romeo is banished, Juliet is forced to marry Paris so she goes to the Friar for help
He makes a plan and gives her a potion so she will appear dead for 2 days so Romeo can come and get her and she won't have to marry Paris
However, the Friar's letter does not make it to Romeo and he receives news that she is actually dead
This causes much grief and sadness for Romeo so he goes out and buys a poison from an apothecary and sets out to Juliet's tomb
At her tomb, Romeo is confronted by Paris and they fight, tragically ending in Paris's death
Finally Romeo opens up Juliet's tomb to lay beside her and, thinking that she is dead, drinks the poison and kills himself
Juliet then wakes up to find that Romeo is dead
