Cerebral Cortex
The cerebral cortex is the biggest part of the brain, approximately two thirds of it.
It is the most highly developed part of the human brain and is responsible for thinking, perceiving, producing and understanding language.

Cerebellum
Situated at the top of the spine, the cerebellum controls balance and muscle activity like fine motor skills

Hypothalamus
The part of the brain that is located above the brainstem and produces many of the body’s essential hormones. Its main function is homeostasis.

Corpus Callosum
Connects the left and right side of the brain allowing communication between the two hemispheres as well as co-ordinating sensory movement such as eyes
Meninges
The meninges are located beneath the skull. They are made up of three layers: the outer layer (called the dura), the middle layer (called the arachnoid) and the inner layer (called the pia). Meningitis is the name given to the infection of the meninges.
Frontal lobe
The frontal lobes are one of the four main regions of the cerebral cortex; they are responsible for key brain functions such as movement, planning and decision making.
