        It is dragging the US down into another recession and putting it into a vulnerable position in the global market. Some countries that have already switched over to green energy but still have many fossil fuels remaining see this as an opportunity to sell it at higher prices to profit off of countries still struggling to adapt. Unfortunately a corrupted state now owned by a yet to be known terrorist leader is cornering America and forcing them to pay to keep their economy floating. In doing this, funding his organisation and buying more and more technology to be able to hit the US in the future, crippling it.
        This is where you come in.

        The eventually the previous attempts of trying to hide it fails and the rest of the world finds out that the Americans have inadvertently been funding one of the biggest terrorist organisations in the world responsible for mass waves of terrorist attacks simultaneously carried out across the globe to keep its energy reserves from running dry and as a cataclysmic result nearly every country in Europe, Asia and the Pacific and even Africa retaliate sparking a world war, giving rivaling countries a chance to annex each other (i.e. Russia and Ukraine).
        The UN later accepts the sincere apologetic words of the US president that they were being extorted to keep their economy from total collapse and creates a task force made up of some of the worlds strongest military's to fend off the rest of the worlds forces to create order using brute force whilst also trying to destroy this new terrorist threat.
