        this seems to be a joyless business arrangement this is a sharp contrast to the passion and tenderness we have seen in romeo and Juliet's relationship

      - she is seen as a property which makes her vulnerable to things that she doesn't agree with such as the marriage with Paris
        
        for example when Paris sees her crying he says "thy face is mine, and thou hast slandered it"

        he created the concept of courtly love
    - - Juliet uses imagery of a falconer luring back a falcon and a captive bird to describe romeo

      - a modern audience would find it very rude and offensive however the audience at that time would find it acceptable
