The 48 laws of power (Part 9)
36: Disdain things you cannot have
The more attention you give to a problem, the weaker you seem, so the best thing to do is to show contempt for it
If the problem cannot be ignored, then simply deal with it in silence
Even if you are able to crush your enemy, others will take pity on him and turn against you
You can either completely ignore the problem, or acknowledge it and pretend you don't care
Force those who annoy you to act, this way they give you the control
33: Discover each man's thumbscrew
Learn about a person's life in order to find vulnerabilities
A person's interests may reveal some weak spots
Something that makes an individual proud may be hiding the exact opposite
Knowing someone's childhood is specially useful
When in a group, search for the weak link and use him to get ground
34: Act like a king to be treated like one
A little bit of humbleness is good, but have to much and no one will respect you
Find a way of standing out, but not so much as it'll make others insecure
Act as the person you would like to be, and people will treat you like that
Do not keep your standarts and expectations low
Always keep your dignity, never appear to lose your temper
"Talk to a man about himself and he will listen for hours."
