The British proposed three different forces to take New York. If the plan is successful it will cut off New England from the Middle and Southern Colonies. General Burgoyne is to lead an Army from Canada into New York using the waterways of the Richelieu River, Lake Champlain, Lake George and the Hudson River south to meet in Albany. Barry St. Ledge was to come from Fort Niagara with Native American allies, and General Howe was to come from New York with his army.
