Retractions
Nasal Flaring
Desaturations with high FiO2
Tachypnea and Tachycardia
Diagnostic Tests
ABG showing hypoxemia
Chest x-ray to rule out atelectasis, air leak syndrome and pneumonia
CT and MRI
Differential Diagnosis
Atelectasis
Pneumonia
Air-leak Syndrome
Toxic ingestion
Respiratory Management
Oxygen support (CPAP commonly)
Intubation if respiratory failure is evident
Surfactant replacement Therapy
