The Salatins costumers like that they can keep their money in there town, the chicken actually tastes like chicken, and all of their meat comes from happy animals which the buyers can see when they visit the farm. (213-214)
The "clean" food is actually less expensive, because society isn't bearing the cost of water pollution, of antibiotic resistance, of food-borne illness, of crop subsidies, and subsidized oil and water. All of the hidden costs to the environment and tax payers that makes cheap food seem cheap. (214)

The goverement also refuses to let disaster programs help farms after natural disasters which leads to tons of crop loss
The funding from the Milk Income Lost Contract has been taken away, leaving them with no cushion against price volatility.
Multiple programs in including the CPR, EQI, CSP, and CSP are not allowed to help any local sustainable farms without getting a major fine.
The GIPSA rules, which protect poultry growers, have been suspended since March 2013
