That’s one every 40 seconds (3000 a day)
For each one that takes their life, 20 attempt to.
Suicide rate is 16% percent every 100,000 people
Student suicide rates are off the roof and the man causes is the work being assigned piling up and the stress and pressure of doing it right causes their mental health issues to rise.
As someone who has had their own personal dark time I can confirm that it is very hard and I find myself constantly getting easily worked up or upset about not being able to understand a topic or getting very stressed about even a practice test.
Recently people have become more aware about the problems in suicide and have created more helplines, songs, tv shows and movies to try and put impact on the big issue.
A lot of mental illness is cause by
School
Major pressure
Tragedy in their life
Moving schools
Inability to fit in
Divorce or parental issues in general
A death of someone important
Jobs
Society expectations
Stress
Disabilities
Other mental or physical issues
Bullying
Self hatred
Insecurities
Social isolation
I believe that teachers should spend more time with students that are finding the topic difficult instead of putting them on the spot because some people learn visually rather than just the teacher saying it.
