Given hx of re-current ankle sprain- pt is advised to wear prophylactic ankle braced / taped during activities which required ankle loading
Discussion :<3:
How is subtalar neutral measured?
Sagittal Plane; Inversion, Adduction, plantaflexion & supination of the Calcaneus = 20 degrees
Eversion, abduction, dorsiflexion & pronation= 10 degree

MOI-18 yr old male sustain basket ball injury on he's right ankle injury sustained when landing awkwardly after attempting a layup 3 days previously;patient was not using any assistive device for ambulation;it was determined that the patient's ankle was in a position of plantar flexion and internal rotation when injured;patient reported that the ankle had swelled on the outside of the ankle and that weight-bearing was difficult due to pain;reported a history of previous right ankle sprains.
GOAL- control acute inflammatory process; regain full ankle ROM; increase muscle strength &power, improve proprioceptive abilities :explode:
Early functional rehabilitation of the ankle should include range-of-motion exercises and isometric and isotonic strength-training exercises
In the intermediate stage of rehabilitation, a progression of proprioception-training exercises should be incorporated.
