In 1931, she took her vows to become a nun
After teaching, she received basic medical training and then went out into the streets to help the poor and hungry
At times, she even had to beg for food because she had very little support in her endeavor

The motto of the organization is to help "the hungry, the naked, the homeless, the crippled, the blind, the lepers, all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone".
