I Have A Dream
-
The Emancipation Proclamation gave hope to millions of Negro slaves, but a hundred years later, the Negro still is not free and finds himself an exile in his own land.
The Constitution and the Declaration of Independence promised "Unalienable rights" of "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness." to all men.
With the insufficient funds given to them, they demand the riches of freedom and the security of Justice NOW. They prefer immediate instead of gradual change from segregation to radial justice.
The Negro will not stop revolting until freedom and equality is attained, but they will never resort to physical violence in fighting for their rights.
The Negro community's protest must not be misunderstood as distrust of white people, as King believes that their freedom is inextricably bound together.
