commanding
a good manager has to have the respect of their employees and be able to direct staff on how they are expected to perform
controlling
as a manager is held accountable for their actions and is often responsible if the business struggles, it is important that they continually controlling and evaluating whether or not the aim or objective is going to be met
planning
a good manager plans affectively, this means having a clear aim or objective that has to be achieved
co-ordinating
achieving objectives often requires that different functions of a business, or different employees, work together.
