What was the turning point of women’s lives in Australia and Britain and how did it change dramatically due to WWII?
Change in gender roles
Jobs
Women worked in factories (America highest rate of production)
-Factories evolved from producing household equipment to necessities that benifit wars (battleships, planes and munitions)
-
Styreo types
Inequality
men got to work/be what ever they desiered however women was stuck at home cleaning and cooking (house wife)
-
Womens' right
Modern day
Even though Women's right have come along way since WWII. Women are still treated differently against men. Many jobs nowadays still pay men and women differently due to stereotypes; such as all men are stronger than women so they are more suitable for this job or women's age 20 to late 30 are likely to get pregnant preventing them to work for a long period as they need to care for their child. Thus they will get paid for a maternity leave causing the company to invest more money into finding people to replace them when they are on leave, where with males they can invest on expanding the company.
Who?
As most males left to fight wars in WWII, many males were not left to continue working to keep the country/town running. Therefore women's had to take the role of mens by working in factories, farming etc.

What?
Women realised that they were being treated unfairly, and how they were only useful for cooking cleaning and caring for the family. Therefore, once the soldiers came back from the war most of them were injured or suffering from trauma and couldn't return back to their usual routine so women had to continue working. However some came home and were not suffering from any serious conditions and were fine, they wanted their work back but the women didn't agree. That was how the women's rights campaign started. (men thought they were more capabale of working than women)
