CrashCourse A&P Tissues Part 4 Connective Tissues
Proper
Loose
lots of ground tissuesm fewer fibers
adipose tissues, fat
mostly cells known as adipocytes
areolar
under epithileal, around organs
under a microscope seems to have a lot of open space
reticular tissue
holds blood in place in many organs
lots of reticular fibers instead of collagen or elastin ones
Dense
lots of collagen
types
regular
in tendons and ligaments
tight bundles of collagen fibres
irregular
fibers thicker and not following a pattern in placement, isn't neat
elastic
dense but firm often around joints
Bones
Calcified connective tissues
spongy
strong and porous where bone marrow is stored
compact
dense w/o visible spaces and stores calcium for future cells
Cartilage
hyaline
most common, flexible support (in end of nose) has some collagen fiber but tiny amount
elastic
like hyaline but with more elastine fibers
fibro
around knees and vertabrae and great at shock absorbance
Blood
ground substance is plasma
mostly erythrocytes ALA red blood cells
leukocytes
Platlets
has proteins dissolved but not fibers
