- - - - Keynesian Economics is a theory that economic output is strongly influenced by spending in the economy. It was first introduced in 1936 by British economist John Maynard Keynes during the Great Depression.
- - - - The Weimar Republic was an unofficial designation for the state of Germany from 1919-33. This was based off of the Weimar Constitution which declared Germany a democratic parliamentary republic.
    - - From 1933-45, Germany was under the dictatorship of Hitler through the Nazi Party. Through this, Germany was transformed into a totalitarian state.
        
        National Socialism, or Nazism, was the totalitarian movement led by Hitler. This movement was extreme anti-intellectual and a-theoretical. The Nazis burned books and censored all of the media. This movement also believed that the dictator should be the soul source of inspiration for the people, and that all enemies should be annihilated.
      - In 1919, Hitler joined the Worker's Party (aka Nazi Party) in Munich and in 1920 was put in charge of the group's propaganda. He grew very invested in improving his status in the party, and a man named Ernest Rohm helped him do so. Hitler's strong will clashed with the other leaders and eventually he became the supreme leader of the party in 1921. With his charismatic personality and ambitious ideas, it was then easy for him to gain more followers.
        
        The racial policy of Nazi Germany was based upon the Aryan race. This was racial grouping that favored those of Europe and Western Asian heritage. This labeled people, such as Jews, as inferior.
        
        Women in Nazi Germany were excluded from all political parties. Men were seen as superior, their combative skills strongly emphasized, while women were limited to roles in the household.

        Nazi eugenics were racial based policies of the Nazis in order to create the "perfect Aryan race."
        
        Nazi Anti-semitism in Germany was strongly biased against the Jewish people. The Nazis enforced anti-Jewish revolts, book-burnings, and took part in anti-Jewish legislation.
        
        In 1935, the Nuremberg Laws defined Jews as a race, and enforced the separation of the "Aryan" from the "non-Aryan."
        
        On November 9th of 1938, Nazis held an anti-Jewish boycott and smashed all the windows in Jewish shops as well as destroyed Jewish synagogues in Germany and Austria. This night, Kristallnacht, is, for this reason, also known as "The Night of Broken Glass," and is seen as one of the leading factors to a chain of mass destruction.
