Key factors influencing consumer decisions
Service
Good pre and after sales make you feel valued as a customer.
Customer service and workers that explain what you are buying or where to buy it can make you feel welcomed and encourage you to return to the store.
Price
Good prices can encourage you to return to that same store because you know their prices are good.
If the store has the lowest price and the best quality, you would obviously return to that store for that well-known quality and price.
Convenience
Online shopping can easily influence where you would shop, as if its delivered thats one less trip to the shops you have to do.
Having an easy to find store can heavily impact the amount of customers you have.
Marketing
Advertisements can make you consider certain products or goods and whether you want them, like a new phone or new food from a fast food restaurant.
Many ads use a catchy song or a funny joke (i bought a jeep) to make people remember the joke/song, therefore remembering the ad. The ads have music to also be more memorable.
Gender
Mothers day and Fathers day can be a great way for business' to make money.
Males and females share common wants like food, car or music, but they have many different wants. If a company can cater to both the gender's wants they could make a lot of money off both the groups.
Age
A baby would want something like a doll, teddy or LEGO™. As you get older the wants change again and again.
Popular trends in age groups can influence your wants, i.e if a game has become popular people will want it more.
Finance
If you are looking towards buying something out of your price range i.e a car or home, you can check what they can do i.e interest rates, pay later, etc.
Whether you can take out a loan for the good or not
Environmental
If the funds made from the product go to cleaning the oceans or helping/giving money to the poor than a consumer might be encouraged or obligated to buy the good.
Can it be recycled? If so then the good being sold might have a higher purchase rate than a good that can't be recycled.
