convenience
if an item is easier to get it is often the better choice because they have other thing they need to do.
if an item can be found a your local store for a little bit more than a store 1hour away i would go for the closer option
marketing
when someone sees a famous person that they like wearing a pair of sheos or wearing a certain pair of headphones they are encouraged to buy them
when a product is exclusive someone will also want to buy it as they will be the only ones which have that product
enviromental
if you are trying to decide between two different products it is normal for consumers to choose the more environmentally friendly one rather than one that destroys the environment
sometimes even the packaging being recyclable can make a consumer more likely to buy because t hey know there helping the environment
