Industrial Revolution: Good or Bad?
Railroads
Good:
The railroads made it possible for manufactures to transport things and things that weren't even possible to move.
The railroad provided thousands of jobs for mine and railroad workers.
They also boosted agricultural and fishing industries in many countries including England.
The railroads made a safer route across the country unlike before when they had to go onto a wagon and most likely not come back.
These also allowed the North to be able to transport their armies in the Civil War.
Railroads made it easier and faster for people to go from one place to another no matter how far it was.
The railroad then made companies want to outdo each other which then lead to them getting encouraged to improve/innovate the railroad and technology.
It saved people money on the cost for transportation.
It opened the country for settlement and now people could even start towns, build sawmills, and open stockyards and ranches.
In addition it also let immigrants enter America to find a job or even work on the railroad.
The railroad improved the Native Americans' economy because it was so low, that the railroads brought a lot of Chinese workers.
Most of them made around thirty dollars every month. Some got forty through fifty dollars per month. In addition, most of them worked for six years.
The railroad was 3,500 miles long and was called the Pacific Railroad.
Bad:
The railroad created pollution throughout the city which caused more diseases and made it much harder to breathe.
Railroads caused more jobs for many people because they needed people to build more tracks so that the train can go many places.
You weren't allowed to bring the things you want because it would cost a lot. In addition, the more it weights, the more fuels it take.
The railroads effected the Native Americans because it destroyed their land and homes. Building the transcontinental railroad means that all of the buffalo had to be killed because they were everywhere. Furthermore, this affected the Native Americans because they used buffalo for many things.
The moving of railroads decrease the size or population of the Native Americans and because of the move, their lifestyle also changed.
Building the trains caused segregation and hatred throughout the immigrants ignominy, while most of the ignominy people went with the Chinese.
While building the track, many people got violent and either attacked the track or other workers to build the track themselves.
Native Americans became very racist towards the Chinese people because most of them worked for the railroads, they were known as slaves.
Most of the Indian people got mad and started to attack because the Native Americans ate their buffalo.
The railroad was paid by the taxpayers, and the cost of the railroads in conclusion costed $50,000,000.
Typewriter
Bad:
The typewriter was not light if you wanted to carry it around.
If you ever made a mistake or wanted to go back and add something, you can't erase it, but you have to restart everything.
A typewriter is very old and can be very fragile. So it would be quiet an amount of money to get it repaired. In addition, there are no parts left for the typewriter you own. Maybe there will only be an amount of people in different country who will have the materials.
Wi-Fi wasn't around during the time the typewriter was invented, so you couldn't search for anything you were unsure of, like the computer.
The typewriter is very noisy and cannot be brought to the library like computer cans.
You would have trouble sending documents because you only can mail it.
A type writer wastes a lot of paper and computers are more environment friendly.
You cannot use it on the train.
Good:
In addition, since it is the final product you don't have to worry about the printer messed up when you are trying to print something.
Since you have to send it through mail it provides more jobs for postal employees and messengers.
They improve you mental skills on checking your work.
You won't have to pay bills for network bills and with wires getting tangled.
Typewriters are cheaper than other tech like computers.
With the typewriters you don't have to print whatever you write because the typewriter already has your writing in ink.
You think more about what you are going to write because you can't make a mistake.
The typewriters didn't involve in you having to plug it in like how we have to do now with things like computers.
Sewing Machine
Good:
Sewing expresses a way for creativity and is invented to be faster and easier with the sewing machine.
You get a feeling of satisfaction once you finish because you know that you did it.
The machine made sewing clothing much faster instead of sewing by hands for days.
The employment rate went up because people were getting hired in factories to work for sewing machines.
The sewing machine helped factories produce a multitude of garments in a faster amount of time instead of hand sewing.
Sewing machines saved many women from getting tire of hand sewing while working for the textile factories.
With sewing machines the stitches were more secure, resistant, and stronger.
People made more money because it didn't require time with the sewing machine.
Bad:
Lots of people need to learn how to use this machine because they never experienced anything like this
They were more expensive compared to hand sewing
This took jobs from tailors.
In addition, this decreased the value of clothing.
Sewing Machines weren't able to do things you were able to do with hand sewing.
Sewing Machines are more frustrating because you can't really control the sewing.
Since many people started to like the sewing machine, factories and the people started to lose their money and their job.
You have to learn how to take care of the machine and how to do basic maintenance.

Telephone

The conversation is private, but there might be others who can hear or listen to the conversation
It was not easy to record what people heard or said. Things could of got forgotten or mis-interpreted.
There might be noise and interference so the call was very poor or weak when you wanted to talk to someone.
Call costed for every minute you took, specially when you're overseas or out of country.
The telephone was often used as a threat for various purpose.
The network was very weak so it became annoying and the fact that there is a limitation when you're calling.
