Industrial Revolution: Good or Bad
Railroad
Bad
Although the railroad made going somewhere easier the trains on them caused a lot of pollution throughout the area
Construction of the tracks cost over $50,000,000 and was a big investment for America
Good
The Railroad improved transportation and made it easier for people to go where they needed to go faster.
People could ship good faster and have better quality since they are protected from wind, sun, and rain while being transported.
Telephone
Bad
Having a telephone meant that you had to pay money for it which most people back then did have
Enemies could tap your phone easier since the technology wasn't as modern as it is today
Good
The telephone made communication easier between people. People no longer had to go all the way to another person, who could be far, to speak to them
With the telephone there was a faster spread of news so many people knew what was happening in their country
Steam Engine
Bad
The steam engine was ran on coal and fossil fuels and caused a lot of pollution much like the trains on the rail road
Steam engines are dangerous and can explode and hurt people on steam boats.
Good
Steam engines made it more efficient to power things such as boats and trains which made it easier to transport goods.
Railways running on steam engines need labor to run them creating jobs for more people

Light Bulb
Good
The light bulb gave light to people enabling them to work late at night and get work finished without time limit.
The light bulbs were easy to purchase and replace.
Bad
The first light bulb consumed a lot of heat energy and had a potential fire risk.
The light bulb didn't last too long
