The use of MOOC's are becoming increasingly popular in distance education. Theses platforms give instructors and learners the ability to stay connected online at all times.MOOCs are a relatively recent instructional phenomenon, and as such, the research has only just begun(Blackmon & Major, 2017, p. 196). The increased popularity of MOOC's have caused majority of higher education institutions to jump along with the bandwagon. The MOOC's that are described within this article are considered to be pedagogy based. With that being said, they 're were 8 categories created. they were sync, async, transfer, adaptive, made, mini, connectivist and group. These ideas suggested to us that we should be looking across multiple categories and allow for variation within categories instead of making the system binary(Blackmon & Major, 2017, p. 199). Being that MOOC's is online, there are problems that can arise. Instructors must place caps on deciding how big to make the course. this can also effect the learners as well. Learners can better prepare themselves for the course experience and instruction. I feel that MOOC's are the wave of the future. Not only do they help keep the instructor and learner in sync, they give the learner a sense of in-dependency for learning at one's own pace and, keeping you still in-tune with your classmates.
