Pons
- regulates body movement, attention, sleep, and alertness.
Cerebellum
- rests under the cerebrum and controls coordination and balance.
Midbrain

- Important for attention, sleep, and arousal. Stimulation of this area makes us alert.
Located between the hindbrain and the forebrain. Involved with vision and hearing.
Forebrain
Hypothalamus
- lies below the Thalamus and is vital for many aspects of behavior and physiological functions.
Limbic System
- Involved in learning, hunger, sex, memory, emotion, and aggression.
Thalamus
- serves as a relay station for sensory stimulation
Cerebrum
- Largest part of the brain, takes up 70% of the human brain. This is larger than any other animal in the world.
