Bavaria head of government Gustav von Kah, army chief, Otto von Lossow and Police cheif Hans Seizer never fully supported the Weimar Republic
Event
8th November 1923 Hitler and 600 Nazis seized a beer hall in Munich whilst the 3 men were having a meeting
Hitler made them promise their support at gunpoint and they agreed. Hitler released them and they went back on their promise almost immediately

Party reorganisation
The party had been banned after the Munich Putsch but secretly survived with it's replacement leader Alfred Rosenburg (although he had few leader ship qualities)

When Hitler was released from prison he persuaded the President of Bavaria to lift the ban on the party and it was relaunched in February and Hitler began to take control once again

New leader of the SA was Franz Pfeffer von Salomon because he was concerned that the SA would continue to be a violent group and he couldn't gaurentee they would follow orders
By 1926 Hitler was the undisputed leader and his message was to use endless propaganda to win over the voters
