The Torah
- Ark is opened, congregation stand: stood at Mount. Sinai when Moses had 10 commandments
- Congregation chant numbers 10:35 when taken out. Torah dressed in breastplate, crown etc. replicates one by priest
- Torah held in front of congregation while scriptures are chanted
- Paraded around the synagogue. Represents march through wilderness when Jews carried Ark to Jerusalem
- People touch Torah with tzit tzit or lips- "God's words are sweet on their lips like honey" Ezekiel 3:3
- Rabbi gives sermon then bless each other "Shabbat shalom". The Sidrah (reading) read from Bimah, dressed and put back in Ark
